New Delhi . The administration has taken a big decision after a stampede at New Delhi railway station. The sale of platform tickets at the station has been discontinued from the counter. The railway station administration said that platform tickets will not be sold for the next one week from 4 pm to 11 pm.
This step has been taken in view of the increasing crowd and stampede incidents at the station. According to officials, the sale of platform tickets will be banned by 26 February. This decision has been taken after a stampede due to a huge crowd gathered at the station to visit Mahakumbh on Saturday. 18 people died in this accident, which increased concerns about security in the entire station premises.
Now the security system at the station has been tightened. Companies of security forces have been deployed throughout the station premises, while a CISF company engaged in the security of the metro has been deployed for railway protection.
According to top police officials, eight companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed under the security of New Delhi railway station. Apart from this, a company of 80 Metro Police personnel, three inspectors and an ACP metro have also been deployed. Different personnel of Railway Police and GRP have also been deployed for security.
Police station heads around Delhi Police have also been engaged in security arrangements. This strict security system and platform ticket sale has been banned, the crowds at the station and the stampede incidents have been done with the aim of controlling the incidents. According to railway officials, many people will not be allowed to enter the station through this. Those who have booking tickets will only be able to enter the station.
