New Delhi. Due to the increasing pollution in the national capital, the Delhi government has decided to make classes from nursery to fifth class online. However, students from classes 6th to 12th will have to come to school. General Secretary of Government School Teacher Association, Ajay Veer Yadav has said that older children are also affected by pollution and hence their classes should also be online.
Speaking to on Friday, Ajay Veer Yadav said that pollution has now become an annual trend just like festivals. Pollution increases every year during the winter season. Everyone in Delhi, from students to common people, is affected by pollution.
Primary school children, who have been kept at home for online learning, are safe at home, but indoor pollution is present. During the Covid period, the whole family stayed at home and if there was a mobile phone, all the children could use it. Now the situation has changed because everyone is working, so children cannot have mobile phones for six hours. They are small and need someone’s help to handle the phone. Therefore, this online class system will not be successful. This is a symbolic step of the government against pollution. Apart from gathering headlines, there is nothing much in this decision of the government.
He said, “Children of higher classes are also affected by pollution. Teachers who come to school to teach children are also affected by pollution. I think schools should be closed for all classes so that all children can get relief.” “
It is noteworthy that in view of the increasing pollution in Delhi, the Delhi government has implemented Grape-3 from today. For its better implementation, a high level meeting was held with all the concerned departments. Construction and demolition works taking place in Delhi have been banned and BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles have been banned. Also, instructions have been given to sprinkle water on a large scale in entire Delhi.
