Now since morning, blanket of smog has started being seen in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. The administration may make many tall claims and promises, but the air quality is not improving. Only when strong wind blows, the air quality improves. The AQI reduces significantly, but if it does not happen, the claims and promises of the administration prove to be hollow. Because AQI remains beyond the red mark.
According to information received from pollution department officials, there is no hope of getting relief from air pollution in the coming few days. Officials have expressed concern that the AQI is expected to cross 400. He says that just a week ago the climate of Noida and Greater Noida was much better. The AQI of Greater Noida was in the yellow zone and the AQI of Noida was in the green zone. But in the last few days, air pollution in both the cities has reached dangerous category. Despite implementation of GREP, the rising AQI figures in Noida and Greater Noida are not being controlled.
There is fog in Noida from morning to afternoon. In such a situation, due to breathing problems, most of the children in the age group of 1 to 3 years are reaching the Child PGI of Noida. According to the doctors of Child PGI, in the last one week, the number of children reaching the hospital suffering from respiratory diseases has increased by 50 percent. Doctors say that the situation is going to get worse. In such a situation, children and the elderly will have to take extreme precautions. They will have to avoid leaving the house unnecessarily.
It is noteworthy that the rules of Graded Response Action Plan are not being followed in Greater Noida. Dust is flying on the roads. Garbage is also being burnt at many places. But the responsible people are not taking preventive measures.
On the other hand, Noida Authority has installed many anti-smog guns at different project sites to prevent pollution. According to the authority, water is being sprinkled through water sprinkler machines. Apart from this, on an average 20 kg dust is being removed from the road every day. The same 12 mechanic sweeping machines are cleaning 340 kilometers of roads every day.
