Former Pakistan team veteran cricketer and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Rameez Raja has once again criticized the team. He has said that Pakistan team has once again got a bad start. Rameez says that if Pakistan team loses, then somewhere they will feel that they cannot make any mistake now. Bangladesh has won the first test match and Pakistan is not in a very good condition in the second test match as well.
Rameez Raja said on his YouTube channel, “The problem with Pakistan is that sometimes the top order performs well and the middle order falls apart. When the middle order is doing well, the top order gets out quickly. After the first wicket fell, both front line batsmen Shan Masood and Sam Ayub batted well and scored 50-50, but then what happened, they lost the advantage and once again the pressure fell on Babar Azam and company and they could not handle the pressure.”
He said, “Whoever has scored 50, especially when you have understood the conditions, then you need to score big runs, so that you also gain confidence, if you are Shan Masood and Sam Ayub, new players, then the middle order or batsmen will also gain confidence and this Bangladesh team can come under pressure in one session or any session, because this is also a young bowling attack, especially if you remove Taskin, then both the fast bowlers are young, but what happens is that they have variation in pace, Nahid bowls at 150 kilometers and that makes a difference, because your footwork is challenged. On such a pitch, if you have extreme pace, it will be beneficial. Pakistan does not have extreme pace.”
PCB chief Rameez Raja said about batting, “Babar Azam tried a lot, 31 runs in 77 balls, tried to stay on the wicket, but what happened was that he could not read the length and this happens when you lose your form, the first thing you do is that you are unable to read the length, you try to play the ball backwards and something similar was seen with Babar Azam. The same thing is that Pakistan’s front foot batting is weak, especially in these conditions.”
Rameez said, “Pakistan also has to understand that if you could have scored 10-15 more runs through the tailenders and made it 300, then this match would have become very interesting. Even now 274 runs have been scored, this is not a bad target, not a bad total, because this pitch is not easy. Pakistan will have to attack, take catches and then attack through spin as well. In such a situation, the question is can Bangladesh win two out of two matches? If they win, then this will be a very big series for them and somewhere Pakistan will get the feeling that they cannot make mistakes now and when you play with this attention, play with this mindset that if I make a mistake, the match will slip and go out of hand, then you keep making mistakes.”
