Palwal, October 31 (IANS). On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a grand ‘Run for Unity’ program was organized in Palwal on Thursday. The event started from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium, where Minister of State Gaurav Gautam flagged off the race.
During this, thousands of youth, women and elderly people joined the race holding the tricolor in their hands amid the cheers of ‘Vande Mataram’. The event was organized on the occasion of National Unity Day, promoting unity and community spirit among the people.
Gaurav Gautam, present as the chief guest in the program, while paying tribute to Sardar Patel, said, “The work done by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the different princely states of India after independence, will be remembered for ages. Due to his extraordinary ability and leadership, India became a united nation. The Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini are determined to take the country to new heights.
Minister of State Gaurav Gautam also wished Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj to all the people present in the program. At the same time, Hodal MLA Harindra Singh praised the foresight and leadership of Sardar Patel. He said that paying tribute to his ideals, we pledge that we will maintain the unity and integrity of the country.
District Deputy Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar Vashishtha said that we should always imbibe the life and thoughts of Sardar Patel in our lives. This Run for Unity is not just a race but a resolution that we will remain united to take India in the direction of progress and development.
On this occasion, school students enthralled the audience by presenting a cultural programme, which helped in enhancing the beauty of the event. Minister of State Gaurav Gautam and other officials also participated in the race. This race started from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium and went to the Community Hall of Sector-2 via Old Sohna More, Minar Gate and Committee Chowk, which was a distance of about 4 kilometers.
