Ayushman Bharat Scheme
After approval of health insurance cover under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), now all senior citizens aged 70 years and above will get the benefit of health insurance coverage. Senior citizens aged 70 years and above from families covered under AB-PMJAY will get an additional top-up cover of Rs 5 lakh. They do not need to share this cover with family members below 70 years of age. The supplementary insurance of senior citizens will be separate from the coverage of other members. Eligible senior citizens will be given a new, separate card under the AB-PMJAY scheme.
Free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh
The Union Cabinet has recently approved health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh for all senior citizens aged 70 years and above under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. That is, senior citizens above 70 years of age will be able to get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh through this scheme.

Visit the PMJAY website. Click on the “AM I eligible” tab. Enter your mobile number and verify by entering OTP. Select the state and scheme. If you see your family details, and find yourself eligible, apply like this:
Step 1: Applicant https://ayushmanup.in/ Open the tab and click on “Register Yourself on SETU”. Step 2: The link will take the user to NHA’s SETU portal. Step 3: Click on the Applicant Self Registration button. Step 4: Applicant registers himself by filling all the required tabs and then clicking on submit. After successful registration, the applicant can now complete his KYC and wait for approval. Once the card is approved by the competent authority, the beneficiary can download the card. Step 5: For this, click on ‘Download Ayushman Card’. Step 6: Select the state and enter your Aadhaar card number. Verify with OTP. Step 7: Click on the download button.
