Shiva Charan Mathur (English: Shiv Charan Mathur, born- 14 February, 1927, Madhya Pradesh; Death- 25 June 2009, New Delhi) was a politician of the Indian National Congress and the tenth Chief Minister of Rajasthan. He was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from July 14, 1981 to 23 February 1985 and again from January 20, 1988 to December 4, 1989. You were also the Governor of Assam.
Shiv Charan Mathur, veteran Congress leader and twice the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, has a record of winning all 25 seats in the Lok Sabha and losing all seats during his tenure. Shiv Charan Mathur, who started his political life from the post of Bhilwara Municipal President, was the district head of Bhilwara, MP and a minister in the Rajasthan government several times. However, Shiv Charan Mathur was born in Nadikanugo village in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. But his education and scope remained in Rajasthan. Shiv Charan Mathur became the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for the first time on July 14, 1981 and held the post till 23 February 1985. Lok Sabha elections were held in 1984 during this tenure. The sympathy wave arising out of the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi gave the Congress a historic victory across the country under the leadership of Rajiv Gandhi. In Rajasthan, the Congress won all 25 Lok Sabha seats, making a clean sweep. This was the first time in Rajasthan that all 25 seats have gone to a party account. After the farewell of Haridev Joshi as Chief Minister, Shiv Charan Mathur became the Chief Minister for the second time on January 20, 1988. Lok Sabha elections were held in late November 1989 during his tenure. Unlike the last elections in this election, the Congress lost the election in all 25 seats. BJP won 13 and Janata Dal 11 seats while Sheopat Singh of CPI -M was victorious in Bikaner seat. Shiv Charan Mathur resigned on 4 December 1989 on this plight of the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections.
