Railway Protection Force angle
Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have started investigating the matter. Officials are trying to confirm whether it is actually a case of firing or an illusion caused by some other incident like stone pelting.
There was panic in the railways even before the bomb threats.
In the last few days, the Railway Department has also been receiving information about bomb blasts at various places. Recently, there was panic after receiving information about a bomb in Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast train (train number 12565). When this train reached Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, the RPF and GRP police team along with the dog squad did a thorough checking of the train, but no suspicious object was found. After this the train was dispatched after a delay of one and a half hour.
Accused who spread bomb rumors across the country also arrested
Earlier, an accused was arrested from Maharashtra, who had spread rumors of bomb blasts across the country. Accused Jagdish Uike had sent bomb threat emails to airlines including the Union Minister, which had created panic among the security agencies.
