Jodhpur. The two-day Vice Chancellors’ Conference 2025 held at the National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) was based on the theme “The Future of Legal Education in India”. 22 Vice Chancellors from across the country participated in this prestigious conference. The conference provided an important platform for innovation and reforms in legal education.
Emphasis on innovation and reform in legal education
In the concluding session, Chief Justice and Chancellor of Rajasthan High Court Justice M.M. Srivastava, Vice Chancellor Professor Harpreet Kaur and Registrar Dr. Sunita Pankaj were present. The concluding session summarized the discussions of the previous two days, with special focus on reforming legal education, interdisciplinary approaches and technological integration.
Need for ethics and inclusivity in legal education
Chancellor Justice M.M. Srivastava stressed the need for a legal education system that evolves with the changing needs of the society and maintains ethical foundations. He said, “This conference has demonstrated the commitment to make legal education inclusive, innovative and globally competitive.”
Emphasis on the need for cooperation and dialogue
Vice Chancellor Professor Harpreet Kaur expressed her gratitude to all the Vice Chancellors and NLUJ team who contributed to the success of the conference. NLUJ is committed to leading in this transformational journey.” He stressed the need for continuous dialogue and organizing more such programs to bring about effective change in the legal sector.

Registrar Dr. Sunita Pankaj underlined the meaningful discussions and conclusions of the conference and described it as a milestone in the journey of NLUJ. “The views shared by the Vice Chancellors and policy-makers will act as a guideline to take the legal education system forward,” he said. He appreciated the efforts of the teachers, students and staff of NLUJ in the success of the conference.
