Now a new system is going to replace the Fast Tag system which was implemented in the country a few years ago. March: A few years ago, drivers had to get fast tags installed in their vehicles by keeping them at any toll tax, similarly now the new system is going to be implemented again under which GNSS system will have to be installed.
Like every time, this time also new challenges have been made regarding the new system and a lot of benefits are being counted for the public. When the Fast Tag system was implemented for the first time, it was told that it would be easy for people to pay toll tax within 30 seconds. Not only this, it was also claimed that people’s money would be saved.
Although only two things have been shown so far, that is that now the queues at toll plazas are longer than before, but queues of vehicles at toll plazas are still a common thing. Sometimes people take 10 to 15 minutes to cross the toll plaza saying that sometimes the link fails, sometimes the system is not working etc.
Testing of the new system has started, and a lot of benefits are being counted in it too.
GNSS system is being brought on Indian roads and it is being claimed that now toll plazas will be removed and in their place satellite base system will do the work of toll collection. Not only this, if the vehicles using this system have to stop or have a house etc. within a radius of 20 kilometers, then toll tax will not be collected.
Not only this, the toll tax on it will be deducted on per kilometer basis so that the more people travel on the expressway, the more toll tax they will have to pay. Many times, people traveling through a loop line or other highway come to the city and have to pay a huge amount of toll tax installed near the city. Now they will get relief from this crisis.
At present it is being tested on two major roads which are Bengaluru Mysore Highway NH 275 and Panipat Hisar Highway NH 709.
Once this system passes the test successfully in every way, then soon people will again have to park their vehicles at the service center or toll booth to install a new system and get the new system installed.
