The cost of education in India is increasing day by day. Especially the expensive fees of private schools have created problems for middle and lower class families. Necessary expenses related to education are now becoming a burden for parents. Recently, the issue of fees of a nursery school has come into limelight on social media, after seeing which people are surprised.
The matter came into limelight when Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi, an ENT surgeon, shared the fee structure of a nursery school on X. The annual fees of this school included parent orientation fee of Rs 8,400 and admission fee of Rs 55,600. The special thing was that this fee was only for Nursery and Junior KG students. After this revelation, there was an uproar on social media and many parents shared their opinions on this issue.
Dr Chaturvedi sarcastically wrote in his post, “Rs 8400 parent orientation fee! No parent will pay even 20% of this for consultation with a doctor. Now I am planning to open a school.” There were many reactions to his tweet.
One user wrote, “If you want to stop this system, then first of all stop sending your child to such schools. However, it is difficult for parents to take this step because they fear for the future of their child.” Another user said, “People will never spend as much on themselves as they spend on their children. This is why the number of expensive coaching centres, schools and colleges is increasing rapidly.” Another user suggested, “We need a revolution in the education system. Can a startup come up with an affordable and quality education system?”
