Even many faces have changed. Despite this, there has been no decline in the popularity of the show. However, this question has been raised many times that how did the serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah start? Who is the real Taarak Mehta? Is there any person with this name or not? Let us know the answers to all the questions in this report.
The show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is based on the column ‘Duniya Ne Uncha Chashmah’ by veteran Gujarat columnist Taarak Mehta. Despite this, this serial started with a very strange coincidence. Actually, the idea of this show was given to the column producer Asit Modi by his very special friend Jatin Kanakia. It was he who introduced Asit Modi to Tarak Mehta’s column. This information was given by Asit Modi himself in an interview. It is about the year 1995. At that time columnist Tarak Mehta had moved from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. In the year 1997, he met Asit Modi. Both of them thought of making a serial based on the column ‘Duniya Ne Ooltah Chashmah’ and their talks continued for two years.
Actually, during that time, columnist Tarak Mehta was also in a dilemma, because his close friend Mahesh Bhai Vakil, living in Surat, was also preparing to make a serial based on the column. He had also prepared one or two episodes. The columnist organized a meeting between Mahesh Bhai Vakil and Asit Modi, in which a consensus was reached on the show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. This show was named so because Taarak Mehta used to observe the events happening in the country and society in a unique way.
Even after consensus was reached from all sides regarding the serial, Asit Modi’s troubles did not reduce. Actually, at that time all the channels had refused to telecast this serial. Eventually SAB TV agreed to this serial and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ started in 2009. Till now more than 2200 episodes have been telecasted. The characters of this serial, be it Jethalal, Daya, Tappu or Champak Lal, are on everyone’s lips. The audience also likes his acting very much.
