Anupam Shyam was born on 20 September 1957 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. After a long illness, he died in Mumbai on 8 August 2021 at the age of 63. He was suffering from kidney related diseases. Many organs of his body had stopped working. During this time, Anupam Shyam was also facing financial problems. He also appealed for help on social media. After which many celebrities like Sonu Sood, Manoj Bajpayee, Yogi Adityanath, Raja Bhaiya extended a helping hand. He received Rs 20 lakh for treatment from UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
Anupam Shyam was such an actor of the film industry who created a different identity on the basis of his hard work. He worked in many films but he got recognition only from television. Anupam Shyam received his schooling from Pratapgarh itself. After this, he did college studies from Avadh University and studied theater from Bharatendu Natya Academy, Lucknow. Not only this, after this he started working in Shriram Center Rangmandal, Delhi. And soon he moved to Mumbai with the dream of acting. Anupam Shyam’s film journey started with an international film. He first worked in a film named ‘Little Buddha’. After this he signed Shekhar Kapoor’s film ‘Bandit Queen’. After this his film journey started.
However, he did not get much recognition from films. Anupam’s look and his eyes got him roles of goons and criminals. He played small and big roles in many films. Anupam Shyam got recognition from the serial ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’ which came in the year 2009. His character’s name in this serial was Thakur Sajjan Singh. This character became so famous that Anupam Shyam’s other name became Thakur Sajjan Singh. However, he played a negative character in this serial as well. But in this serial made on the background of Uttar Pradesh, his character of the most powerful person of a powerful family of UP suited him very well and this character gave him a new identity.
