Anupam Shyam Ojha (English: Anupam Shyam Ojha, born- 20 September 1957; died- 8 August 2021) was an Indian film and TV actor, who was mainly active in English cinema and TV world. Anupam Shyam acted in many films and TV serials, but he got real success from the TV serial ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’ which came in the year 2009. In this serial, Anupam Shyam played the character of Thakur Sajjan Singh. People liked this TV serial very much and especially the character of Anupam Shyam. After this, he started being recognized in every household.
Anupam Shyam Ojha was born on 20 September 1957 in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. He received his schooling from Pratapgarh itself. After this, he completed his college education from Avadh University. He also received theater education from Bharatendu Natya Academy. Anupam Shyam Ojha’s favorite Bollywood actors were Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, Balraj Sahni and Irrfan Khan, while his favorite film was Irrfan Khan’s ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ released in recent years.
The name of Anupam Shyam ji’s wife is Savitri Shyam Ojha. Anupam ji and Savitri got married when Anupam Shyam had not even stepped into the world of acting. Very few people know that Anupam Shyam Ojha’s parents wanted him to become a doctor, but he wanted to act since childhood and later he worked in the world of acting.[1]
After taking theatre education, Anupam Shyam started working in Shriram Centre Rangmandal. After working there for a few days, he came to the Maya city Mumbai with the dream of becoming an actor. Anupam Shyam first started his film career with an international film named ‘Little Buddha’. After this, he got a chance to work in Shekhar Kapoor’s film ‘Bandit Queen’. Anupam Shyam mostly got the role of goons and criminals in films. In his career, he worked in many films like Dastak, Hazar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Dushman, Satya, Dil Se, Zakhm, Sangharsh, Lagaan, Nayak, Shakti, Paap, Jigyasa, Raaz, Well Done, Abba, Wanted, Kajraare and Munna Michael.
Anupam Shyam got real success from the TV serial ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’ which came in the year 2009. In this serial, Anupam Shyam played the character of Thakur Sajjan Singh. People liked this TV serial very much and especially the character of Anupam Shyam. Even though Anupam Shyam played a negative character in this serial, people loved his character so much that Anupam Shyam’s other name became Thakur Sajjan Singh. Apart from Pratigya, Anupam Shyam worked in many TV serials including ‘Krishna Chali London’, ‘Shapath’ and ‘Dolly Armaanon Ki’ in his career.[1]
Anupam Shyam, who was suffering from kidney disease, died on 8 August 2021. Many of his organs had stopped working.
