Introduction
Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Apurvi Chandela wanted to become a sports journalist but Abhinav Bindra’s gold medal win at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games inspired her to become a shooter. Her father, who runs a hotel business in Jaipur, left no stone unturned in making Apurvi Chandela a sportsperson. Playing the role of a father, he set up a shooting range for Apurvi behind his house, so that his daughter does not face any problem in practicing.
