Arundhati Roy (English: Arundhati Roy, born November 24, 1961, Shillong, Meghalaya) is a famous English writer and social worker. He has also worked in some films.
Arundhati Roy was born on 24 November 1961 in Shillong, Meghalaya (India). He spent the early days of his life in Kerala. After that he studied architecture from Delhi. He started his career with acting.
Arundhati Roy won the Booker Prize in 1997 for her first novel, “The God of Small Things.” It was the best-selling book by a non-resident Indian author. Apart from the ‘Man Booker Prize’, Arundhati Roy has also received many other awards, of which the ‘Sahitya Akademi Award’ received in 2006 is the most important.
