She is an Indian female weightlifter. He has won his first medal in history in the 2022 Commonwealth Games (Commonwealth Games, 2022, Birmingham, England). Manipur’s female weightlifter Bindiarani Devi won 55 kg. Won silver medal in weight category. He weighed a total of 202 kg. Lifted the weight. This was India’s fourth medal of the Commonwealth Games, 2022. Earlier, Mirabai Chanu had won gold, Gururaj Pujari won bronze and Sanket Mahadev had won silver medal for India.
Introduction
Like Mirabai Chanu, Bindiarani Devi is also a resident of Manipur. He won the Commonwealth Championships gold in 2019 before getting silver in the 2021 edition. The daughter of a farmer who also owns a grocery shop, Bindiarani Devi took up weightlifting because of her short height. Bindiarani Devi said, “This is my first Commonwealth Games and I am very happy with winning the silver and the Games record.” She said that I used to play Taekwondo from 2008 to 2012 but then decided to do weightlifting. I had a height problem. So I had to shift. Everyone said my height was ideal for weightlifting.”
