Took care of the house in childhood
When it was considered wrong for a girl from a good family to enter the film industry in India, then on 16 April 1941, a girl was born in Gujarat, who broke many dimensions of the society. Bindu, born to famous film producer Nanubhai Desai and theater actress Jyotsna, had an innate connection with the world of cinema. Since her father and mother were associated with the glamor industry, Bindu was fond of Bollywood since childhood. However, his father wanted Bindu to pursue his career by becoming a doctor instead of joining Bollywood. Bindu, a follower of Vyjayanthimala, lost her father at the age of 13. Because of this, the responsibility of the entire house fell on Bindu’s shoulders at a very young age.
He chose acting as his path
After this, there were ‘two paths’ in front of Chhoti Bindu. First, she could follow the path of fulfilling her father’s dream or she could pursue the path of who she always wanted to be. We all know which path ‘Memsaab’ chose. After the death of her father, ‘Mona Darling’ entered the world of modeling at a very young age. Not only this, Bindu, the eldest among the eight siblings, also got married soon. Bindu, who did about 160 films in her career, started her film journey with the film ‘Anapadh’ released in 1962. After Bindu’s ‘palanquin’ was ready, such a ‘coincidence’ happened in her life that the entire ‘story’ of the ‘Kati Patang’ actress’s life changed. Rajesh Khanna’s 1997 film ‘Kati Patang’ gave Bindu the name Shabbo, which became her identity before Mona Darling.
The negative role overshadowed the hero.
At a time when all the actresses wanted to establish themselves in lead roles, Bindu chose the opposite path. Bindu gave importance to negative roles and was successful in creating her own identity. Bindu, who aspired to become a heroine, deserves praise for playing a negative role, because be it ‘Mona Darling’ or the evil mother-in-law in ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’, Bindu made everyone her fan with her amazing acting in all the roles. Bindu worked in great films one after the other in her career, in which she overpowered big actors. However, as colorful as Bindu’s film career was, her personal life remained equally colourless. Bindu, who married Champak Lal Jhaveri at a young age, never had a child, which proved to be the biggest sorrow of her life.
