Political News Desk !!! Bukanakere Siddhingppa Yeddyurappa (English: Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yeediyurappa, born- 27 February 1943) is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Karnataka. After winning the Karnataka Assembly Elections, 2008, B.K. S. Yeddyurappa became the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was the Chief Minister for a short time even before he broke the alliance with JD (S) in 2007. B. S. Yeddyurappa became the first Chief Minister of BJP in any South Indian state. On 26 July 2019, B.K. S. Yeddyurappa took oath and took over as Chief Minister’s post. After his resignation, Basavaraj Bommai has been appointed the new Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Introduction
B.C. S. Yeddyurappa’s father’s name was Siddalingappa while his mother’s name was Puttayamma. When Yeddyurappa was just 4 years old, his mother died, after which he was looked after by his father alone. B. S. Yeddyurappa married a woman named Maitradevi in 1967. They have two sons and three daughters from this marriage. Their sons are named Raghavendra and Vijayendra, while their first daughter is named Arunadevi, second as Padmavati and third daughter is named Umadevi.
Education
B. S. After completing 12th grade studies, Yeddyurappa chose the subject of art to do his further studies and he got a Grajuet degree in this subject. After earning his degree, Yeddyurappa also served as a first-division clerk; But after giving his service as a clerk for some time in the Social Welfare Department, he quit his job, after which he went to Shikaripura Nagar in Karnataka and went here and started serving as a clerk in a rice factory and also married Maitradevi, daughter of the owner of this factory.
Political journey
B. S. Yeddyurappa was associated with the ‘Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’ at the age of just 15, but Yeddyurappa got the opportunity to serve the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1965 and was given the responsibility of the post of Secretary of Shikaripur unit of this Union.[1]
In view of his work, the BJP party made him its party president in the year 1988. In 1999, Yeddyurappa lost to his assembly seat, due to which he was nominated by the BJP to make him a member of the legislative council. He won the re -assembly elections in 2004 and was once again made the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Yeddyurappa, along with Janata Dal (secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy, formed the Alains Government in Karnataka and during this time Yeddyurappa was given the responsibility of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, but due to some reasons these aliens could not last long and the government fell for long. But later the Janata Dal (secular) and the BJP party again joined hands and this time Yeddyurappa was made the Chief Minister of Karnataka and thus he took the post of Chief Minister of this state for the first time on 12 November 2007. But he had to leave his post in just seven days due to opposition from the Janata Dal Party. In Karnataka again there were assembly elements in 2008 and this time the BJP party won for the first time under their leadership; With which he was again given the post of CM on 30 May 2008; But due to the name in many controversies, he had to step down in the year 2011. The Bharatiya Janata Party won the assembly elections held in Karnataka, with which B.C. S. Yeddyurappa once again became the Chief Minister of Karnataka. B. S. Basavaraj Bommai has been appointed the new Chief Minister of Karnataka after Yeddyurappa’s resignation. He has taken charge from July 28, 2021.
