C.G. Krishnadas Nair (English: CG Krishnadas Nair, born- 17 September, 1941[1]) is an educator and metallurgical scientist known for his contributions to the field of aeronautical metallurgy. He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2001 for his contributions to science and technology.
C.G. Krishnadas Nair started his career as Assistant Professor at Regional Engineering College, Surathkal (present day KNIT). Later, he worked as visiting faculty at the University of Sheffield, UK, when he left the teaching career to join Hindustan Aeronautics in the Department of Design and Development in 1971.
Gradually C.G. Krishnadas Nair became the first professional engineer to become the MD and Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
He has presented and published 193 scientific papers in various conferences at national and international level.
C.G. Krishnadas Nair has also written 20 books.
He became the Chairman of National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) since the end of his tenure at CIAL in 2011. He is also an independent director at Global Vectra Helicorp.
