Durga Ashtami will be celebrated on 5 April in Chaitra Navratri. According to Vedic Panchang, Ashtami Tithi will start on April 4 at 8:12 pm and end on April 5 at 7:26 pm. Therefore, according to the almanac, Durga Ashtami is being celebrated on 5 April according to Udayatithi.

Get up before sunrise and retire from bathing etc. and wear clean clothes. Clean the mother’s idol with Ganga water. After this, offer white clothes to the mother, because Mother Mahagauri loves white color. Apply mother roll, kumkum etc. to the mother. Offer black gram with punch nuts, fruits and sweets. After this, perform the Aarti of Mother. Worshiping Virgo on the day of Ashtami is considered auspicious.
