Jyotiraditya Scindia, son of Madhavrao Scindia, was born on 1 January 1971 in Mumbai. Scindia inherited politics, his family being one of the few families in Indian politics to have a royal heritage as well as a democratic one. Whether Scindia is in Congress or BJP, his status remains intact. After the death of his father Madhavrao Scindia, Jyotiraditya Scindia started politics from Congress, but in 2020 he made the biggest change of power in the politics of Madhya Pradesh, which got recorded in the political history of the state. After joining BJP, Scindia’s political star has started rising. Scindia’s political stature increased rapidly in 2021. Jyotiraditya is survived by his wife, a son Mahaaryaman Scindia and a daughter Ananya Raje. Jyotiraditya’s wife Priyadarshini Raje Scindia is the daughter of the Vadodara royal family, who is considered to have an important contribution in Scindia’s political decisions.
After joining BJP, July 7, 2021 was the most important day for Scindia. Because on this day he got a place in the Modi government and Scindia was given the responsibility of an important ministry like Civil Aviation. The special thing here is that Scindia got the inheritance because his father Madhavrao Scindia was also the minister of Civil Aviation Ministry. Jyotiraditya Scindia became MP for the first time by winning the Lok Sabha by-election in 2002. Scindia won 4 consecutive Lok Sabha elections in 2002, 2004, 2009 and 2014. Scindia was the Minister of State for Energy in the UPA-2 government. Scindia was the Chief Whip of the Congress in the fourteenth Lok Sabha. He was the Chairman of the Congress Campaign Committee in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. While joining Congress, he was also the General Secretary of the party before joining BJP. After this, he became a Rajya Sabha MP for the first time. On July 6, Jyotiraditya Scindia has been made a cabinet minister in the Modi government. Jyotiraditya Scindia is a member of the National Executive of BJP. Scindia played an important role in bringing down Kamal Nath government.
When the Congress government was formed in the 2018 assembly elections, Jyotiraditya Scindia was considered the main contender for the post of Chief Minister. But the party made Kamal Nath the Chief Minister in place of Scindia. Later, a tussle started between Scindia and Kamal Nath, finally in 2020, Jyotiraditya Scindia left Congress and joined BJP. Along with Scindia, 22 MLAs supporting him also left the Congress, due to which the Kamal Nath government came in minority and ultimately Kamal Nath resigned. After which BJP government was once again formed in the state. Later he became an important part of the Modi government team.
