China did fraud here too, made Chow Chow dog a panda; video goes viral

A zoo in China, which makes a cheap version of everything expensive, presented a Chow Chow dog as a panda. Its body was painted to make it look like that. The zoo is facing a lot of criticism on social media for this deception. According to NBC News, several fake pandas were found in the Taizhou Zoo in Jiangsu province in the month of May. There, zoo officials painted the faces of the Chow Chows to present them as pandas. When questioned about this trick, a representative of the zoo said that since the zoo did not have any panda bears, the officials wanted to do this.

When people outside found out about the incident, they criticized the zoo’s actions with the two dogs. In a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, a user wrote that dyeing the Chow Chow dogs could make their delicate skin and thick coats susceptible to skin diseases. In response to the backlash, officials defended their actions, stressing that the dye was harmless and reasoning that if humans can change their appearance, then dogs can do the same.

According to the American Kennel Club, Chow Chow dogs are known as all-purpose dogs from ancient China. They are recognized by their hairy skin and stocky body build. Chow Chows come in a variety of colors, including red, black, blue, cinnamon and cream, with both rough and smooth coats.
