Damayanti Sheera (English: Damayanti Beshra, born- 18 February, 1962) is a woman who has done a voice for women empowerment, who has done a lot of work in Santhali language literature and education. For his invaluable contribution, the Government of India has awarded him the Padma Shri ‘Award in the year 2020.
Introduction
Damayanti Sheera was born on 18 February 1962 in Bobijoda in Mayurbhanj district. His father’s name was Rajmal Manjhi and mother’s name was Pungi Manjhi. In 1988, she tied the knot with Gangadhar Hansda. In 2009, Damayanti Sheera was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for her composition ‘Shay Saheed’. Since 2011, she has been publishing the first female Santhali magazine ‘Karam Dar’.[1]
