Wilfred de Souza (English: Wilfred de Souza, born- 23 April, 1927; died- 4 September, 2015) was an Indian National Congress politician, who was the former seventh Chief Minister of Goa. He was the Chief Minister of Goa three times – from 18 May 1993 to 2 April 1994, from 8 April 1994 to 16 December 1994 and then from 29 July 1998 to 23 November 1998.
Congress leader Wilfred D’Souza, a doctor by profession, became the Chief Minister of the state thrice. During his third term in this post, he represented the ‘Goa Rajiv Congress’, a faction that broke away from the Congress. Wilfred D’Souza represented Benaulim, Calangute and Saligao assembly seats before losing the assembly elections in 2007. He was elected ‘Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons’ of Britain twice. Former President of India K. R. Narayanan honored him with the ‘Dr. BC Roy Award’ in the year 1996.
