Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata died on Wednesday night at the age of 86. Ratan Tata’s last rites will be performed in Mumbai. A special scene was seen during his last journey, where his close aide and Deputy General Manager of Tata Trust, Shantanu Naidu, was walking on his motorcycle in front of the hearse carrying the mortal remains of Ratan Tata. Shantanu Naidu always lived like a shadow with Ratan Tata. This scene was seen by people on the streets of Mumbai and captured on camera.
In the morning, Shantanu Naidu was seen leaving Tata’s house on a motorcycle, walking ahead of the truck carrying Ratan Tata’s mortal remains. During this time, deep disappointment was visible on his face. Naidu expressed deep condolences on the demise of Ratan Tata and shared a picture in which both were seen sitting in a chartered plane. He wrote with the picture, “Sorrow is the way to pay the price of love. Goodbye, light of my life.”
The deep bond between Shantanu Naidu and Ratan Tata was forged by their mutual love for dogs. Naidu was once shocked by the death of a stray dog and created a device called ‘Reflective Collar’ so that drivers could see the dogs. Naidu wrote a letter to Ratan Tata regarding this, on which Tata not only approved but also gave financial help. Naidu received an investment and perpetual bond from Tata for this venture.
After this, Shantanu Naidu went to America for his master’s degree and after returning, he got a chance to work in the private office of Ratan Tata. Naidu not only managed many of Ratan Tata’s affairs but also supported him in his social work.
Ratan Tata also always supported Naidu’s efforts. One of these is ‘Goodfellow’, a startup launched in 2022, which provides companionship services for the elderly. Despite his health, Ratan Tata attended the launch event of this startup and also invested in it.
