Now to raise awareness, the company has given permission to cyber security company Secureworks to report this hack. Talking to BBC, Secureworks said that the IT employee was hired as a contractor in the summer. He used the company’s remote working tools and logged into the corporate network.
After this he secretly downloaded as much data as possible from the company. The special thing is that he worked in the company for four months and also took salary. According to the report, when the company fired him, a ransom e-mail came. This e-mail also included some stolen data. However, it is not yet clear whether the company has paid the ransom money to the hacker or not.
