Gurdeep Singh won the silver medal in weightlifting in the 12th South Asian Games 2016. Gurdeep Singh won +105 kg in the IWF World Weightlifting Championships held in Anaheim, USA in 2017. Three new senior national records were established in the weight category. 388 kg in this IWF World Weightlifting Championships of the year 2017. Even though Gurdeep finished 13th in the weight category (172+216), he made national records in snatch, clean and jerk and total lift. Gurdeep Singh won +105 kg on the last day of Men’s Senior National Weightlifting Championship 2018. Broke the national record by winning the gold medal in the category. Indian player Gurdeep Singh had secured fourth place in the weightlifting event of more than 105 kg on the fifth day of the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia. Gurdeep Singh did not have a good start at the Commonwealth Games, 2022. He lifted 167 kg in the second attempt. Lifted, but 173 kg in the third attempt. Couldn’t lift it. In clean and jerk he lifted 207 kg. Started with, but 215 kg. The second attempt failed. However, despite this he increased the weight to 223 kg in the third attempt. Did it and lifted it successfully and confirmed the bronze.
