Actually, Jagjit’s father Sardar Amar Singh Dhamani was interested in music. Jagjit moved to Mumbai in 1965 with the aim of speeding up his career, but his real struggle started from here. It is said that in the beginning Jagjit Singh used to sing songs in small music meetings and programs to earn livelihood. Apart from this, he also tied his voice in film parties.

Jagjit’s Bollywood career began in 1994 with the song ‘Babul Mora Naihar’ from the film ‘Awashkar’. After this, his first album ‘The Unforgelles’, released in 1976, gave a new flight to his career. Jagjit and Chitra Singh’s pair was so famous in the music world that it became a pair in real life too. However, this was Jagjit’s second marriage.

There was a time in the life of Ghazal Emperor when he said goodbye to music for six months. Actually, during 1990, he lost his 18-year-old only son Vivek in a car accident. ” Jagjit Singh, who ruled the hearts of people even today, said goodbye to this world with ghazals like ‘Lo Lo’ and ‘Letter No Sandesh’.
