I.G. Patel (English: IG Patel, born: November 11, 1924; death: July 17, 2005) was the fourteenth Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. His tenure was from December 1, 1977 to September 15, 1982.
He inspected the performance of ‘Gold Auction’ on behalf of the Government of India. I.G. Patel joined the IMF in 1981. Has played a major role in availing the extended funding facility of Rs. He said that the target is introduced for nationalization of six private sector banks, priority sector lending and merger of deposit insurance and credit guarantee corporations.
