Madan Lal Khurana (English: Madan Lal Khurana, born: October 15, 1936, Faisalabad, Pakistan; died: October 27, 2018, New Delhi) was a former Chief Minister of Delhi, a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Madan Lal Khurana was born on 15 October 1936 in Faisalabad, Pakistan. During the British Raj, this area fell in Lyallpur of Punjab province of undivided India. His family came to India after the partition of the country in 1947. Khurana was only 12 years old then. His family lived in Refugee Colony, Kirti Nagar, Delhi.

Khurana had received education from ‘Kirori Mal College’ of Delhi University and Allahabad University.

Khurana is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. His son died in the month of September 2018.

Khurana, a senior BJP leader, was the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1993 to 1996. Madan Lal resigned in 1996 after facing controversies. His name had surfaced in the Hawala scandal. In the year 2004, he was also the Governor of Rajasthan for 10 months. He was an MP in the ninth, tenth, twelfth and thirteenth Lok Sabha. When the government was formed at the Center under the leadership of BJP for the first time, Madan Lal Khurana became the Union Minister. He also served as BJP State President and National Vice President of the party.

In the year 2005, he was expelled from BJP due to his criticism of Lal Krishna Advani, but he was taken back into the party on 12 September 2005. Madanlal Khurana was the Executive Councilor of Delhi from 1977 to 1980. After that he became metropolitan councilor twice. When Delhi got statehood, he was elected the first Chief Minister in 1993. He remained on this post till 1996.

Khurana was suffering from chest infection and fever for the last few days. He was having trouble breathing since Saturday morning. He suffered brain hemorrhage five years ago in 2013 and was ill since then. He was 82 years old. The last rites of Madan Lal Khurana were performed on Sunday, 28 October.
