Fact Check: A video has been posted on social media X. The caption written with this video claims that an RSS trained Indian female wrestler defeated a Pakistani wrestler during a wrestling tournament in Dubai. However, this is not true at all. Neither was this wrestling match played in Dubai nor the female wrestler involved in it is from Pakistan. We will tell you what is the truth. But first let us know what has been said in the post written on X.
According to this post, a Pakistani female wrestler won the final of the women’s wrestling championship held in Dubai. She mocked the Indian women watching this wrestling competition and challenged any Indian woman to come on stage and fight with her. The post further states that suddenly an Indian girl named Kavitha Vijayalakshmi from Tamil Nadu raised her hand and said that she is ready. This woman, trained in the RSS Mahila Varg, appeared on stage wearing Chamunda Rupa Thali, saffron clothes and defeated the Pakistani wrestler twice.
This claim is completely false. After searching about this on the internet, the whole truth came out. Actually this video is from the year 2016 and both the female wrestlers are Indians. That year Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) had organized a tournament. It was organized by famous Indian WWE wrestler Dilip Singh aka The Great Khali. Khali founded CWE in the year 2015. CWE is India’s first professional wrestling promotion and training academy.
The viral video which has been posted claiming to be from the Dubai tournament was posted on CWE’s YouTube channel on June 13, 2016. Its title is Kavita accepted BB Bull Bull’s open challenge. BB Bull Bull is India’s first female professional wrestler. However, Kavita is not from Tamil Nadu but a former police officer from Haryana and has been a power lifting and MMA champion. This match between the two was played in Jalandhar, Punjab under CWE. It is seen in the video that Bull Bull is challenging the crowd gathered to watch the match. Then Kavita accepts her challenge and heats up the atmosphere by knocking her down twice.
