Indu Jain (English: Indu Jain, born- 8 September, 1936; died- 13 May, 2021) was the chairperson of the ‘Times of India Media Group’. She was a role model for many women and was very active for women’s rights. In the year 2016, she was honored with the ‘Padma Vibhushan’ by the Government of India. Indu Jain loved art and culture very much. She was also the founder president of the women’s wing of FICCI. Along with this, she was also the president of the Bharatiya Gyanpeeth Trust.

Indu Jain was born on 8 September 1936 in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. She was ranked 29th among the billionaires of India. Indu Jain was married to late Ashok Kumar Jain. They have two sons – Sameer and Vineet Jain. Indu Jain was an Agarwal Jain and belonged to the Sahu Jain family. Bennett Coleman & Company is one of the largest media groups in the country. It was established in the year 1838. Later in 1948, Ramakrishna Dalmia sold the company to Bennett Coleman. Many brand names are associated with this group. Indu Jain was also involved in charitable work and also wrote religious columns. She was also active in women’s rights.

In the year 2000, Indu Jain addressed the Millennium World Peace Summit of the United Nations. In the year 2015, Indu Jain ranked 57th in the Forbes list with a net worth of $3.1 billion. She started ‘The Oneness Forum’ in 2003, which is a spiritual and unity organization. For which she also received the ‘Mahatma Mahavir Award’.

Indu Jain passed away on May 13, 2021 in New Delhi. She was 84 years old.
