Apart from daughter Alavia, he has two sons Meezaan and Abbas Jafri. Meezaan made his debut in 2019 with the film ‘Malal’.

Javed Jaffrey, famous as a comedian, also entered politics in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He contested the election from Lucknow on Aam Aadmi Party ticket against senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh, but lost.
