Kabir Bedi was born on January 16, 1946 in Lahore (then part of Punjab, now Pakistan) in a Sikh family. His father Baba Pyarelal Singh Bedi, a Punjabi Sikh, was a writer and philosopher. He played the role of fellow villain Gobinda in the James Bond film ‘Octopussy’ (1983). He is the first Bollywood actor to play a villain in a James Bond film. He starred as Prince Omar Rashid in the popular American TV show ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ for a year. Kabir Bedi has been awarded the title of Cavaliere (Knight) of the ‘Ordine al Merito Della Repubblica Italiana’, the highest civilian honor by the Italian Republic.
