Kailash Chandra Joshi (English: Kailash Chandra Joshi, born- July 14, 1929, Hatpipalya, Dewas; died- November 24, 2019, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) was a Bharatiya Janata Party politician and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. He was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 26 June 1977 to 17 January 1978. Kailash Chandra Joshi was the first non-Congress Chief Minister of the state. He was an 8-time MLA, 2-time Lok Sabha member and once a Rajya Sabha member.

Kailash Chandra Joshi was MP from Bhopal. His son Deepak Joshi has been a minister in the state BJP government.
Kailash Chandra Joshi was born on July 14, 1929 in Hatpipalya tehsil of Dewas district.
He was also a founding member of Jan Sangh established in 1951. After this he worked as a minister of Jan Sangh in Dewas district from 1954 to 1960.
In 1955, Kailash Chandra Joshi was elected President of Hatpipalya Municipality.
Since 1962, he has been elected member of the Legislative Assembly from Bagli region seven consecutive times.
Kailash Chandra Joshi was the Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh from 1972 to 1977.
After staying underground for a month during the Emergency, Kailash Chandra Joshi was arrested at the gate of the Legislative Assembly on July 28, 1975 and remained under house arrest in MISA for 19 months.[1]
On June 24, 1977, Kailash Chandra Joshi became the first non-Congress Chief Minister in the history of Madhya Pradesh. However, in 1978, he resigned as Chief Minister due to ill health.
