Telangana News Desk !!! Kalwakuntala Chandrashekhar Rao (English: Kalvakuntla chandrashekar rao; born- 17 February, 1954, Medak District, Andhra Pradesh) is the former Chief Minister of Telangana. He is the head of the ‘Telangana Rashtra Samithi’. He has the distinction of becoming the first Chief Minister of Telangana state. Of. Chandrashekhar Rao is known as a prominent activist of the separate Telangana Rashtra Movement. Chandrashekhar ji has been a member of the 15th Lok Sabha. He has also beautified the post of Labor and Planning Minister at the Center. Chandrashekhar Rao was a member of the Telugu Desam Party before the formation of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He left the Telugu Desam Party demanding the creation of a separate Telangana state.
Birth and education
Of. Chandrashekhar Rao was born on February 17, 1954 in a village called Chintadka of Medak district in Andhra Pradesh. He got his early education in Andhra Pradesh and then received a postgraduate degree in Telugu literature from ‘Osmania University’ in Hyderabad. Of. Chandrashekhar Rao started politics in the year 1970 with his college and university studies.[1]
Marriage
Chandrashekhar ji was married to Shobha, causing him to have two children. A son, whose name is Kalwakuntala Tarak Rama Rao, is a member of the assembly. The daughter’s name is Kalwakuntala poetry, who is a social worker.
Political journey
Before playing an active role in politics, K.K. Chandrashekhar Rao was an employment advisor and used to send workers to the Gulf countries. The main points of his political journey are as follows-
Of. Chandrashekhar Rao joined the ‘Telugu Desam Party’ in 1985 and was elected MLA. From 1987 to 1988, he was the Minister of State in Andhra Pradesh. From 1992 to 1993, he was the Chairman of the ‘Public Undertaking Committee’. After this, 1997 to 1999. Chandrashekhar Rao became Union Minister. He also held the post of Deputy Speaker in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2001. He was a member of the ‘Telugu Desam Party’ before the formation of ‘Telangana Rashtra Samithi’. Later, he left the ‘Telugu Desam Party’ demanding the construction of a separate Telangana state. ‘Telangana Rashtra Samithi’ contested Lok Sabha elections with Congress in 2004 and won 5 seats. 2004 to 2006 Chandrashekhar Rao served as the ‘Union Minister of Labor and Planning’. In 2006, he resigned from the membership of Parliament and was elected MP by an overwhelming majority in the elections held. In 2008 K.K. Chandrashekhar Rao resigned again with his 3 MPs and 16 MLAs and was re -elected MPs next time. Till June 2009, he was in the UPA government, but due to the negative attitude of the UPA on the separate Telangana nation, he thought it right to leave the UPA.[1]
Chief Minister
Of. The main demand of Chandrashekhar Rao was the creation of a separate Telangana state, for which he also announced an indefinite hunger strike. Due to this, he was also arrested from Karimnagar. Meanwhile, when the demand for Royal Telangana came to light, he said that “The said demand is completely against our demand. We had demanded a separate Telangana state of only ten districts of the present Andhra Pradesh, whose capital is Hyderabad and someone on Hyderabad There is no kind of ban. ” 15th Lok Sabha member K.K. Chandrashekhar Rao represents the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency of Andhra Pradesh. On June 2, 2014, he became the first Chief Minister of Telangana.
