Kashinath Narayan Dikshit (English: Kashinath Narayan Dikshit, born- October 21, 1889; died- August 12, 1946) was a scholar of Indian archaeology. He is given the credit for starting the excavation work related to prehistoric era in Gujarat.

Kashinath Narayan Dixit was born in Pandharpur, Maharashtra. He had established the All India Association of Indian Museums. After obtaining special qualification in archeology, Kashinath Narayan Dixit first worked as ‘curator’ of the museums of Mumbai and Lucknow. In 1920, he was appointed Superintendent of ‘Archaeological Survey of India’. On the basis of his merit, he was appointed to the post of Director General of Archeology in 1937. Kashinath Narayan Dixit directed the excavation work of Mohenjodaro Paharpur. You also started the excavation related to prehistoric era in Gujarat. Kashinath Narayan Dixit was an expert in all three parts of archeology – script, inscriptions and numismatics. Kashinath Narayan Dixit was also the president of Aligarh History Congress in 1943. Kashinath Narayan Dixit died on August 12, 1946.
