Bihar News Desk !! Krishna Singh (English: Krishna Singh, born: October 21, 1887, Munger District, Bihar; Death: 31 January 1961) was the first Chief Minister and Advocate of Bihar. They are famous as ‘Bihar Kesari’. Krishna Singh was the Chief Minister of Bihar till his death from January 2, 1946. Bihar was the first state in India, where the first landlord under his leadership was eradicated during his reign. Along with Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Anugraha Narayan Sinha, he is also known as the creator of modern Bihar.
Introduction
Krishna Singh was born on 21 October 1887, Munger district, Bihar. He made his MA from Kolkata University. And took a degree of law and started practicing in Munger. But after Gandhiji started the non -cooperation movement, he gave up advocates and spent the rest of his life in public works. They were arrested for boycott of Simon Commission and participated in salt satyagraha.
Political life
Krishna Singh was a great vigilant advocate. He was elected as a member of the Central Assembly in 1937 and the Bihar Assembly in 1937 itself. He became the Chief Minister of Bihar in the first Congress cabinet of 1937. On the question of the release of political prisoners, he and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Govind Ballabh Pant threatened the British government to bow down. When the World War II started in 1939, Krishna Singh’s cabinet resigned. For the individual Satyagraha of 1941, Gandhiji appointed Singh as the first Satyagrahi of Bihar, he was also lodged in jail in the Quit India Movement of 1942.
In 1946, Krishna Singh again became the Chief Minister of Bihar and till 1961, Mrityuranant held this post. During his tenure, many works of importance were done in Bihar. Zamindari system ended, Sindri’s manure factory, Barauni oil purifying factory, bridge over the Ganges in Mokana is special.
Death
Krishna Singh died on 31 January 1961 in Bihar.
