She was fond of singing since childhood
Richa Sharma, who became famous in Bollywood with her excellent voice, rules the hearts of millions of people today with her hard work and dedication. Richa Sharma started working towards her dream of becoming a singer from a very young age. She has also taken singing training in Indian classical music. In 1994, she came to Mumbai to make a career as a singer and looked for playback opportunities in the city of dreams. She got her first break in 1996, she started her career in Bollywood with ‘Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya’.
I got only 11 rupees for the first song
Richa was born on 29 August 1980. Her father late Pandit Dayashankar was a popular storyteller and classical singer, he inspired Richa to sing. She started singing at the age of 8. She sang her first song in Jagrata, for which she was paid 11 rupees. About 30 years ago her family left Patiali and came to Faridabad and now the family lives in Mumbai.
The father had predicted
In an interview, Richa Sharma had told that she has kept those 11 rupees with her even today. Richa said, ‘Father used to say that what is the fun in making roti in a plate? The fun comes when you sow the seeds yourself, cut them, grind them, cook them and then eat them… When I was very young, my father realized that I will become a singer. He said in front of everyone that my daughter will make a name in music.’ Richa Sharma lent her voice to many popular songs of the 90s and 2000s, which include Jag Soona Soona Lage, Sajda, Maula Maula, etc.
