Mallipudi Raju Pallam Mangapati (English: Mallipudi Raju Pallam Mangapati, born: 31 August 1962) is a famous politician and former Minister of Human Resource Development. M. Mangapati Pallam Raju was also elected member of the Ninth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Lok Sabha. Pallam Raju’s constituency is Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh and the party is Indian National Congress.
Pallam Raju was born on August 31, 1962 in Pithapuram, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He did his schooling from Hyderabad Public School and obtained an engineering degree from Andhra University (1979–1983). Pallam Raju did his MBA from Temple University, USA in 1983–1985. He is also a former NCC cadet.
Pallam Raju married Mamta and they have two children, a daughter Vahini and a son Jatin.
Pallam Raju comes from a political family with his grandfather Late Mallipudi Pallam Raju who was a freedom fighter and his father Shri MS Sanjivi Rao was a Union Minister in the Government of India (1982–1984), Mangapati Pallam Raju was the youngest MP in the Indian Parliament and 9th Lok Sabha in 1989.
Served as a director on the boards of Indian Airlines and Air India during 1994-1997.
Between August 2004 and January 2006 he served as Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Departments of Information Technology and Posts, Information and Broadcasting.
Pallam Raju is a former Defence Minister in the Government of India.
