Maitreyi Pushpa (English: Maitreyi Pushpa, born November 30, 1944, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh) is a famous Hindi litterateur. She has been appointed Vice President of Hindi Academy, Delhi. Maitreyi Pushpa has realized rural India in her writings. A glimpse of both Braj and Bundel cultures is visible in his writings. Maitreyi Pushpa is considered to be the creator of Rangeya Raghav and Phanishwar Nath ‘Renu’ category.
Maitreyi Pushpa was born on November 30, 1944 in a village named Sirkura in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh state. The initial part of his life was spent in Bundelkhand. His early education took place in Khilli village of Jhansi district. He completed his M.A. (Hindi Literature) degree from Bundelkhand College, Jhansi. He has the experience of continuously active writing in newspapers and magazines like Rashtriya Sahara, Vanita.
Maitreyi Pushpa’s novel ‘Kasturi Kundal Basai’ is not only a novel but also her autobiography. And in other words, it is not only an autobiography, it is also a fiction. All these three things about ‘Kasturi Kundal Basai’ are true, but incomplete truth. In fact, this book is an experimental manifestation of Maitreyi Pushpa’s creativity, which tells the readers the story of a writer’s lifestyle, her relationships, concerns and struggles very interestingly.
