Vishnu Sahay (English: Vishnu Sahay, born- 22 November, 1901; died- 3 April, 1989) was a former ICS officer. He also worked on the post of Cabinet Secretary. Vishnu Sahay also served as the Governor of the Indian states of Assam and Nagaland.
Vishnu Sahay S.M. He was educated at Chandausi College and Oxford University. You had a distinguished and long career in the Indian Civil Service. He was made the Sugarcane Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh and the Sugar Controller and Agriculture Secretary of India by the Government of India. Vishnu Sahay had helped Amul’s Verghese Kurien get a scholarship to study dairy farming in New Zealand. Vishnu Sahay was also given the responsibility of Secretary for Kashmir Affairs in the Ministry of External Affairs. He was made two Cabinet Secretaries during the years 1958 to 1960 and 1961 to 1962. Vishnu Sahay was appointed the Governor of Assam twice. His first term was from 12 November 1960 to 13 January 1961 and his second term was from 7 September 1962 to 17 April 1968. He was also the first Governor of Nagaland. His tenure lasted from December 1, 1963 to April 17, 1968.
