Gurjit Kaur (English: Gurjit Kaur, born October 25, 1995, Punjab) is an Indian hockey player. She plays the role of defender in the Indian hockey team. Along with this, she is also the drag flicker of the team. Gurjeet Kaur has represented India at the international level in the Hockey World Cup, 2018. She was the Indian team’s leading goalscorer in the World Cup with eight goals, which saw the Indian team emerge victorious as continental champions.
Gurjeet Kaur was born in Miyadi Kalan village of Amritsar, Punjab. She was born in a farmer family, whose parents are Satnam Singh and Harjinder Kaur. He started his primary education 13 km from the village. Received from a distant private school. Later in 2006, Gurjeet Kaur was sent to Carron. Caron is one of the oldest and most famous women’s hockey nurseries. This is where he discovered his passion for the game of hockey with his sister. His excellence in hockey earned him a position in the government branch of the school, which provided him free education and food, bringing relief to his family.
Gurjeet Kaur got her first chance to play for the country in the Senior National Camp in 2014. However, she could not cement her place in the team. She is the only female player who became a permanent member of the Indian women’s hockey team in 2017. In a press release he said, “Learning the drag flick technique well was the turning point of my career. Everyone has a role to play in a hockey team and I’m glad I learned a good drag flick for my team.” “I made good efforts to become a flickr. I got a lot of help from my teammates and coaches to learn and become accustomed to the drag flick as my career progressed.” Gurjeet was part of the silver medal winning team at the Asian Games in 2018.
