Rabri Devi Yadav (English: Rabri Devi Yadav, born January 1, 1959, Gopalganj, Bihar) is an Indian female politician. She is the wife of well-known politician Lalu Prasad Yadav. Rabri Devi has held the post of Chief Minister of Bihar thrice as a member of Rashtriya Janata Dal. She is a traditional housewife. Initially she had no interest in politics, but when she was elected as the Chief Minister it was a major shock to many in Indian political history. With this Rabri Devi became the first woman Chief Minister of Bihar.
Rabri Devi was born in 1956 in Gopalganj, Bihar. He has received school education till 8th class. Rabri Devi married Lalu Prasad Yadav in 1973. He has seven daughters and two sons (Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav). When her husband Lalu Prasad Yadav was found guilty in the fodder scam, she resigned from her CM post. After this an unprecedented incident happened. On 25 July 1997, Rabri Devi became the Chief Minister of Bihar. She has held the post of Chief Minister of Bihar thrice – from 25 July 1997 to 11 February 1999, from 9 March 1999 to 2 March 2000, from 11 March 2000 to 6 March 2005.
