Pramod Karan Sethi (English: Pramod Karan Sethi, born: November 28, 1927, Banaras; death: January 6, 2008, Jaipur) was a famous Indian doctor who created the Jaipuria leg (artificial leg), who received the Ramon Magsaysay Award and Padma Shri. Were respected.
Dr. Pramod Karan Sethi was born on 28 November 1927 in Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name is Dr. N. Of. Sethi who was a professor of physics at Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Pramod Karan Sethi passed the MBBS examination from Agra University with highest marks in seven subjects and obtained the Master of Surgery (MS) degree in 1952. Dr. Sethi also obtained F.R.C.S. degree from Edinburgh, England in 1954. Pramod Karan Sethi was the father of the world famous Jaipuria leg (artificial leg). Together with Shri Ramchandra Sharma, he developed a cheap and flexible artificial leg called Jaipuria Foot in 1969.
Dr. Pramod Karan Sethi was an orthopedic specialist and a recipient of Magsaysay and Padmashree awards. ‘Jaipur Foot’ hospital, named after Jaipur, was used by so many people all over the world that Dr. Sethi was given a place in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ for it. Famous actress Sudha Chandran also got a new life from Jaipur Foot Hospital.
Dr. Pramod Karan Sethi died on January 6, 2008 in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
