History News Desk !!! Krishnakant (English: Krishnakant, born- 28 February 1927; Death- 27 July 2002) was the former Vice President of India. He was the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha from August 21, 1997 to July 27, 2002.
Introduction
Krishnakant ji was born on 28 February 1927. Father’s name was Lala Achint Ram. The name of Krishnakant ji’s wife was Suman Krishnakant. Krishnakant ji under his educational qualification. The degree (technology) of the Banaras was obtained from the Hindu University. He also served as a scientist with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi.[1]

Krishnakant was the Secretary of the Indian Parliamentary and Scientific Committee, headed by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Chairman Lal Bahadur Shastri. Krishnakant ji was also the editor of a quarterly magazine called “Science in Parliament”.

Krishnakant ji was the Governor of Andhra Pradesh from February 7, 1990 to August 21, 1997. He was the Governor (Additional Charge) of Tamil Nadu from December 22, 1996 to January 25, 1997.[1]

Founder general secretary
The People’s Union for Civil Liberty and Democratic Rights, 1976 Krishnakant ji first assumed prominent positions in the Congress and later the Janata Party and the Janata Dal’s parliamentary and organizational wings. He was a member of the Executive Council of the Institute of Defense Studies and Analysis for many years.

He was a member of the Rajya Sabha in 1966–1977. He was a member of the Lok Sabha in 1977–1980. Krishnakant ji was the Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha from August 21, 1997 to 27 July 2002.[1]

During his tenure, Krishnakant ji died on 27 July 2002.
