Lallan Prasad Singh (English: Lallan Prasad Singh, born- 1912; died- October 17, 1998) was the Governor of five states of India. He served as the Governor of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura. He was posthumously honored with ‘Padma Vibhushan’ by the Government of India.
Lallan Prasad Singh was born in 1912 in Buxar, Bihar. He was a member of the 1936 batch of the Imperial Civil Service. On September 9, 1936, he joined the ICS. After independence in 1947, Lallan Prasad Singh had a long and distinguished career in the Indian Administrative Service. He was the Chief Secretary during the first independent government of Bihar (1946–1961). He met the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Dr. S. Of. Worked with both Singh and Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha. He held several positions including Home Secretary of India, Governor of five North Eastern states and Indian Ambassador to Nepal.
