Mumtaz, a great actress known as Madhubala in the cine world, was born on February 14, 1933 in the middle class Muslim family of Delhi city. Madhubala was the 5th child of her parents. His parents had a total of 11 children. Madhubala’s father Ataullah Khan was working as a coachman in Delhi. Shortly after Madhubala’s birth, his family moved from Delhi to Mumbai.

Start of acting

Madhubala used to dream of becoming an actress since childhood. In the year 1942, Madhubala first got the opportunity to work in the film ‘Basant’ as Baby Mumtaz as a child artist. Impressed by Baby Mumtaz’s acting, famous actress of Hindi films, Devika Rani, offered her to work in her banner ‘Bombay Talkies’ film ‘Jowar Bhata’ but Madhubala could not work in that film. Madhubala was identified as a film actress from producer director Kedar Sharma’s film ‘Neil Kamal’ released in 1947. Even though this film failed, she could not make some special identity, but her cine career as an actress started.

Success

Many films of Madhubala were released till the year 1949, but Madhubala did not benefit from them. After the success of the film ‘Mahal’, made under the banner of Bombay Talkies in 1949, Madhubala succeeded in making her mark in the film industry. Health

During the health test in the fifties, Madhubala realized that she had suffered from heart disease. During this time many of his films were in the era of production. Madhubala felt that if the film industry came to know about her illness, then it will harm the filmmaker, so she did not tell this to anyone. It took about ten years to produce K. Asif’s film Mughal -e -Azam. During this time, Madhubala’s health was very bad, yet he continued shooting the film as Madhubala believed that the opportunity to play the character of Anarkali could not be found again and again. When Mughal -e -Azam appeared in the year 1960, the audience was enchanted by Madhubala’s performance in the film. Although unfortunately, Madhubala did not get the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for this film, but the cine audience still believes that Madhubala was entitled to the Filmfare Award that year.

Marriage

In the sixties, Madhubala had reduced working in films to a great extent. Madhubala Kishore Kumar had come very close during the construction of Chalti and Jhumru. Madhubala’s father informed Kishore Kumar that Madhubala is going to London for treatment and would be able to marry him only after coming from London. But Madhubala realized that perhaps after the operation in London, he could not stay alive and he told this to Kishore Kumar, after which Kishore Kumar married Madhubala to fulfill Madhubala’s wish. After marriage, Madhubala’s health began to deteriorate further, although some films like her passport (1961), Jhumru (1961), Boy Friend (1961), Half Ticket (1962) and Sharabi (1964) were screened. In the year 1964, Madhubala once again turned to the film industry. But Madhubala fainted in shooting for the first day of the film clever and later the film had to be shut down.

Death

Madhubala, the great actress, who had drunk cine lovers for almost two decades with her charming acts, said goodbye to this world on 23 February 1969 in Mumbai.[
