Let us tell you that on the auspicious day of monthly Shivratri, wake up in the morning and take bath etc., after this take a resolution to fast and worship. Now install the idol of Shiva Parvati on an altar and worship the Gods and Goddesses as per the rituals. Get Shiva bathed with Panchamrit. After this, apply white sandalwood tilak to Bholenath. Offer kumkum to Goddess Parvati and light a lamp of cow ghee. Offer kheer.
After this, offer a garland of hibiscus and white flowers. Also offer Belpatra to Lord Shiva and recite Shiva Tandav Stotra, Shiva Chalisa. Complete the worship with the Aarti of Lord Shiva. Be sure to ask for forgiveness from God for any mistakes made during worship. Break the fast the next day.
